The Hamilton International School (THIS), part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), is seeking an exceptional English Teacher to join our dynamic Secondary team. About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, student-centered English educator with experience teaching across Grades 6–12, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP English. The successful candidate will foster a love of literature and language, deliver high-quality learning experiences, and maintain the highest standards of achievement, literacy, and articulacy.

You will join a collaborative department that values innovation, reflective practice, and strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English across Grades 6–12, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP courses.

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.

  • Use effective assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform planning.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including EAL and high-ability students.

  • Create a safe, respectful classroom environment rooted in high expectations.

  • Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work, and departmental resources.

  • Maintain excellent communication with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.

  • Support the wider life of the school, including extracurricular and enrichment programs.

  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding, health & safety, and professional conduct expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or English (with teaching qualification).

  • Valid teaching certification meeting Qatar MOEHE requirements.

  • Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience, including experience in High School Diploma and/or IBDP English.

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and effective teaching practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multicultural environment.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student wellbeing.
