About This Role

Employed by: NCBIS - to support the vision, positive ethos and policies of the school.

Responsible to: Deputy Head (Academic)/Head of Department.

Qualifications: Degree and PGCE or QTS or appropriate teaching qualification.

Experience: Minimum 3 years teaching or other relevant experience.

New Cairo British International School (NCBIS) is looking to recruit an outstanding full-time Secondary Teacher of English.

The Secondary School?

The secondary school students follow the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3, assessed using the Pearson Progression Scale and GL Assessment (PTM/PTE/PTS)

At Key Stage 4 we take the Edexcel International GCSE examinations in Year 11.

At Key Stage 5 the International A-Levels programme and the IB Diploma Programme are two different routes that are taught in Years 12 and 13.

understand the needs of students from multilingual backgrounds have UK or equivalent teaching qualifications

have proven experience of teaching to at least IBDP and/or A level (or willing to undertake fully-funded overseas training)

demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of collegiality

be able to incorporate ICT in their practice

possess humour, energy, flexibility and a positive outlook
