About This Role

International School Brescia is a vibrant and inclusive learning community located in Italy, committed to providing high-quality international education to students from diverse backgrounds. We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join our team and support the academic and personal development of all students with additional needs. We are an IB continuum school with students aged 2 to 18 from different countries and education backgrounds.

Position: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) and EAL teacher

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the identification, assessment, and provision for students with special educational needs.
- Develop individualized learning plans (ILPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external specialists.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting SEND students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Liaise with families, professionals, and agencies to ensure comprehensive support.

-English Language Acquisition teaching

Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in special educational needs coordination or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of SEN legislation, frameworks, and best practices within an international school context.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with staff, parents, students, and external partners.

- Experience with IB DP accommodations regarding SEND learners.
- Ability to analyze data to inform teaching strategies tailored for SEND learners.

-Experience with English as an Additional Language learners within the IB curriculum.
