Job Role

The role will involve providing core educational support to children and young people with additional educational and emotional needs. The ability to develop strong professional relationships with students and their families is paramount along with:

  • A knowledge of a trauma informed approach, a strong grasp of positive behaviour strategies and experience in supporting children to self-regulate emotions.

  • An understanding of working with vulnerable young people with a range of needs and communication styles.

  • An ability to develop, deliver and tailor a bespoke provision based upon individual needs and targets set out in an EHCP.

  • A willingness to commit to an educational journey with a young person and create learning opportunities based upon their interests and passions.

  • An ability to work in a range of different ways and across various platforms.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching English, Maths and Science at KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE/Functional Skills level

  • Openness to adapt the curriculum creatively

  • Availability during school hours and/or after school

  • Availability for face-to-face tuition in Wiltshire

  • Valid Enhanced DBS check for working with children (we can support you in gaining this at cost if required)

  • Full commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Excellence in your communication, timekeeping, reliability, and reporting

  • Be willing to or already be registered as self employed

All roles are offered on a freelance basis. Inspiring Kids cannot guarantee a set amount of working hours per week.
