We are seeking a dedicated and passionate senior teacher to guide our teaching team and provide exceptional early childhood education in a nurturing and culturally responsive environment to lead and inspire.

This role is permanent and part-time with FTTE up to 0.7.

About us

Our centre is a small, family-oriented, well-established early learning centre serving New Lynn and surrounding community for more than 20 years committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education where tamariki thrive. We are licensed to teach up to 28 children, aged 2 to 5 years.

About the role

As senior lead teacher, you will lead a team of passionate educators, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning practices. You will shape the educational experiences of our young learners, strengthen community connections, and uphold the highest standards in curriculum implementation and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of teachers, fostering a positive and professional workplace culture.
  • Implement and maintain high-quality early childhood education programmes that align with Te Whāriki.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the local community.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies.
  • Actively contribute to the centre's continuous improvement and professional development initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified and registered ECE teacher with a current practicing certificate.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in established centres, with proven leadership abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships and passion for creating high-quality learning environment.
