About This Role

Singapore International School Thonburi is seeking a suitably qualified and licensed Physics/Science teacher to deliver high-quality science education across Key Stages 3 to 5. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge in Physics, sound pedagogical practice across age ranges, and a commitment to international education standards within both the Singaporean and Cambridge frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Science (KS3) and Physics (KS4–5) in accordance with the Singaporean and Cambridge curricula.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote conceptual understanding, practical skills, and scientific inquiry.

  • Prepare students effectively for Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Physics examinations.

  • Design and assess laboratory-based practical work, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

  • Use assessment data to monitor progress, inform teaching, and support student attainment and growth.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse, international student body.

  • Contribute positively to curriculum development, departmental planning, and cross-curricular initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate records, provide timely feedback, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Participate actively in professional development and wider school life.

Person Specification

  • A recognised degree in Physics or a related science discipline.

  • A valid teaching qualification and teaching licence (as required by local regulations).

  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or A Level Physics is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with, or willingness to engage with, the Singaporean Science curriculum at primary and lower secondary levels.

  • Strong classroom management, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and inclusive educational practices.
