We are looking for a dedicated Specialist Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for specific pupils with special educational needs who have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
The successful candidate will work 27.5 hours per week.
This is a 38-week-per-year role, which is term time only.
A Day in the Life
Some key responsibilities of the role include:
Providing support for a named pupil with an Educational Health Care Plan. The LSA will ensure that this pupil is fully integrated into all aspects of school life and is making strong progress.
Responsibility for implementing the targets on the Pupil’s One Plan and EHCP outcomes in liaison with the SENCO.
Understanding specific learning needs and styles and providing differentiated support to pupils individually and within a group.
Implementing planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate.
Attending to pupils’ personal needs including help with social, welfare and health matters, including minor first aid.
What We're Looking For:
You are the perfect fit for our team if you have:Experience working with a range of children.
GCSE Maths and English at Grace C or above (or equivalent).
Willingness to undertake interventions to support children e.g., learning, social skills.
The ability to implement and adapt learning activities.
