We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and collaborative professional to join our dynamic transdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for a therapist who thrives in a school-based setting and enjoys working closely with teachers and families.

The Role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for the assessment and delivery of high-quality interventions for students aged 2–18. Your work will bridge the gap between clinical therapy and classroom learning, ensuring that every student has the communication tools necessary to access the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment & Intervention: Conduct formal assessments using a range of tools and screeners to identify needs. Provide individual and small-group sessions focusing on speech, language, and social skills.

Inclusive Integration: Integrate communication strategies into the classroom environment to support pupils with learning disabilities in mainstream settings.

AAC Leadership: Lead the implementation of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices and expressive/receptive communication systems where required.

Documentation: Produce comprehensive formal reports, well-sequenced therapy plans, and data-driven recommendations for families and external professionals.

Empowerment: Work closely with parents and staff to provide them with the tools to support students in areas such as joint attention, play skills, language acquisition, and articulation.

Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years of clinical/school experience.

Clinical Scope: Proven experience working with children (Aged 2–19) presenting with a range of needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • ADHD and Down’s Syndrome

  • Physical disabilities and complex medical needs

  • Psychological, emotional, and social disabilities

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in current SLC methodologies and familiarity with specialist equipment/software (AAC).

  • Classroom Management: Proven skills in positive behavior management and creating stimulating, modified learning environments.

Requirements & Safeguarding

  • Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
