Position: Director of Sports

Brookes Moscow, a premier international school with a strong International educational influence, invites

applications for the role of Sport Teacher. This position with delivery of the school’s comprehensive sports

program, spanning Primary, Upper, and Senior School.

We are seeking a highly energetic and experienced Sports Teacher to join our team. As a key member of

our educational program, the Sports Teacher will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging and

challenging sports lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for

sports and a commitment to inspiring and developing young athletes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach PE across all school divisions, ensuring development of physical literacy, motor skills, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits.

• Design units covering fitness development, athletics, team sports, individual sports, movement skills, tactical awareness, and wellness education.

• Coach competitive school teams, prepare students for tournaments, and facilitate inter house competitions.

• Ensure safe use of sports halls, equipment, gym facilities, and outdoor areas; conduct regular safety checks.

• Collaborate with the Director of Sports on seasonal planning, events, and extracurricular opportunities.

• Support inclusion by adapting activities for students with diverse physical or developmental needs.

• Maintain accurate health, fitness, and progress tracking records

• To participate in school activities & events;

• To provide First Aid Assistance if necessary; To be aware of safety in all environments.

• To actively attend and participate in all staff meetings and In School Coaching.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physical Education, Sports Science, Coaching, or related field.

• Teaching certification required.

• Experience teaching PE in international or American-style schools preferred.

• Coaching certifications are an advantage (football, basketball, swimming, athletics, etc.).

• Strong understanding of safety protocols, first aid basics, and risk assessment.

• High energy level, professionalism, and team spirit. Fluent English required; Russian is a plus.

• Strong safeguarding awareness and ability to supervise large groups safely.

Candidate Requirements

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years verifiable post-qualification teaching experience.
  • Demonstrable track record of excellent student outcomes.
  • A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
  • Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
