The Role

Job Title: STEAM/Innovation Teacher

Reporting to: Deputy Head Prep School (Academics) & Deputy Head Senior School (Academics)

Teaching & Learning

  • Design and deliver engaging STEAM and innovation-based learning experiences across the school.

  • Integrate coding, robotics, design technology, digital tools, and interdisciplinary projects into lessons.

  • Facilitate enquiry-based and project-based learning that encourages innovation and creativity.

  • Use modern pedagogies to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in students.

Technology Integration

  • Promote the use of emerging technologies such as AI tools, 3D printing, AR/VR, and IoT in the learning process.

  • Guide teachers and students in integrating technology across subjects to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

  • Contribute to the development of a digital innovation strategy for the school.

Curriculum & Programme Development

  • Collaborate with subject leaders to embed STEAM concepts within the broader Cambridge International Curriculum.

  • Lead the planning and implementation of makerspace, digital fabrication, or innovation labs.

  • Coordinate interdisciplinary projects, challenges, and real-world problem-solving activities.

  • Support initiatives like hackathons, innovation fairs, STEM olympiads, and design showcases.

Professional Development & Collaboration

  • Lead workshops and training for staff on STEAM integration and innovative practices.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote cross-industry exposure and learning.

  • Participate in school improvement planning and contribute to a culture of continuous innovation.

Assessment & Student Development

  • Assess student projects and competencies based on creativity, process, application, and outcomes.

  • Provide feedback and guidance to foster resilience, curiosity, and iterative thinking.

  • Identify and nurture talent in design, technology, science, and innovation-related disciplines.

The Person

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Engineering, Design, Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent)

  • Professional certifications in coding, robotics, or digital technologies (preferred)

  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in STEAM or innovation-related areas

  • Experience in Cambridge or other international curriculum (IGCSE, A-level preferred)

Personal Qualities

  • Strong understanding of STEAM education and its role in 21st-century learning.

  • Passion for creativity, experimentation, and student-led innovation.

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and collaborative planning skills.

  • Ability to inspire students and colleagues to embrace change and innovation.
