About This Role

Teacher of Computer Science

Start date: April 2026 or ASAP

Salary: MPS/UPS

The Featherstone Academy, Pontefract Road, Featherstone, WF7 5AJ

We seek to appoint a Teacher of Computer Science at Featherstone Academy who is an inspiring and ambitious practitioner. We are passionate about providing every student with the opportunities to achieve their very best, and we are looking for a colleague who shares this passion. Can you instil a ‘Growth Mindset’ and nurture students to see challenges as opportunities to flourish? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We are a small school with an inclusive culture and warm ethos, yet we have big ambitions to be a beacon of learning, aspiration, and success for our local community.

The Role

The Featherstone Academy is proud to be part of Resilience Multi Academy Trust. The ethos of resilience, a Growth Mindset and Positive Discipline has helped to transform schools – from their culture to their Ofsted ratings – as well as the lives of students and teachers.

We want our staff to develop their pedagogy in a way that fits their own skills and expertise to benefit their students, but which is rooted in what we know impacts learning. We have a framework of excellence which underpins quality teaching. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT, this opportunity could be the ideal next step for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality teaching in Computer Science.
  • Instil a Growth Mindset in students.
  • Support students in overcoming challenges.

What We Offer

The successful candidate will enjoy access to high quality CPD. You will also be joining a happy trust where 95% of colleagues agreed that they enjoy working here and 92% would recommend us to a friend or colleague (taken from 2022 staff wellbeing survey). Our commitment to staff wellbeing means we prioritise staff mental health, drive down unnecessary workload and support our colleagues to progress in their careers.

This role provides a real opportunity for you to make your mark, and as a growing Trust with an excellent reputation and access to high-quality CPD for all, there are always opportunities for career development.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers, contractors, and visitors to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service and other statutory checks.

Want to know more? We welcome you to come and visit the academy. Please contact Clare Thompson, PA to the Principal to book a visit.

Interviews will be on 16 April 2026
