The Heys School wishes to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and passionate Teacher of Design Technology to join our team who will provide excellent teaching and learning across the full age (KS3 and KS4) and ability range.

Teacher of Design Technology (with possibility of Head of Personal Development)

Hours: Full time, 32.5 hours

Salary: Main scale to Upper scale range (plus possible TLR2a)

Closing Date: 10th April 2026

Start Date: Easter 2026 or sooner where possible

Enhanced DBS checks will be conducted. Post is subject to safer recruitment process.

You will implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and support the designated curriculum area as appropriate and monitor and support the overall progress and development of students across KS3 and KS4. There is also the possibility to link the role with the Head of Personal Development for interested candidates.

Applicants should be creative and forward thinking and have the drive and motivation to support the further development of the department and the school.

You will be joining a committed team of staff, who work with enthusiastic and positive students, who are keen to learn. The school is on an exciting journey as they work in partnership with The Rowan Learning Trust.

If successful you will be invited to teach a lesson and interview on a date to be confirmed.

Compensation

£32,916 - £51,084 per year (Teachers Pay Scale M1 to UPS3 (with the possibility of TLR2a))
