Teacher of Functional Skills - English and Maths
About This Role
The College is looking to appoint a permanent Teacher of Functional Skills - English and Maths. The successful candidate will be part of the Support for Learning team that delivers responsive and effective teaching and support to students with SEND.
The main purpose of the job role is to teach Functional Skills English and Maths (Entry Level – Level 2) to students with additional needs who struggle to access fulltime education, with the aim of integrating back into education. These learners are at risk of becoming NEET.
Teaching will be delivered to one or more students, in the classroom, and on a one-to-one or small group basis. In addition, the post holder will be a tutor and keyworker for a number of students with high needs.

Contract: Full-time, permanent.
Salary: Sixth Form Teacher Pay Scale 1- 9: currently £33,465 - £51,714.
Start date: Thursday 20th August 2026.
