About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher of history to join our outstanding history department. Using your motivational skills and subject knowledge you will be able to inspire students to become interested in and successful at history. You will be able to confidently correct misconceptions, adapt material and develop mastery in your students. You will be aligned to our high expectations for outstanding behaviour, ensuring a calm and purposeful environment in the classroom.
A suitable candidate will be:
Able to plan and deliver engaging and impactful history lessons
Confident with KS3 and KS4 subject knowledge for history (opportunities possible at KS5 also depending on experience)
Friendly, collaborative and looking to work as part of a team with a culture of sharing and support
Confident in using a behavioural policy consistently and assertively
Keen to develop and take on training opportunities
Up to date on strategies for supporting all students including and EAL, PP, SEND

About the department:
The department has achieved outstanding academic performance, achieved through clearly laid out and well-resourced schemes of work. Our Attainment 8 and Progress 8 scores have been 'significantly above' the national average for the last 3 years We achieve this is through a bank of centralised and co-planned lessons, with adapted lessons pre-planned for all years. This reduces work duplication, improves consistency and ensures a healthy work balance. The department has a culture of a friendly working environment focusing on collaboration, sharing and support. There are many extra-curricular opportunities in the department with close links to universities and numerous trips going out every year

- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to elevate instructional strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- A minimum of 2 years verifiable post-qualification teaching experience.
- Demonstrable track record of excellent student outcomes.
- A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
- Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
