About This Role

Job Role

The role requires a high level of professional accountability to ensure effective lesson planning, accurate assessment of student progress, and the consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3-5. The post holder will be expected to maintain strong academic standards, support examination readiness, and contribute to whole-school responsibilities in accordance with school policies and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver dynamic Science lessons aligned with the British Curriculum (Biology/Physics specialism preferred).

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners and promote inclusive practices.

  • Assess, track, and report on student progress using data to inform instruction.

  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student wellbeing.

  • Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities, and STEM initiatives.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and engage positively with parents and the wider school community.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science (relevant specialism) and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience teaching Secondary Science within a British Curriculum school (UAE experience desirable but not essential).

  • Strong subject knowledge and proven track record of student achievement.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

  • Experience teaching KS5 / A-Level.

  • Ability to lead extracurricular science clubs, competitions, or STEM projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned to the required curriculum.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for diverse learners.
  • Assess student progress rigorously and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Participate actively in broader school life, including extra-curricular programs.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to elevate instructional strategies.

Candidate Requirements

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years verifiable post-qualification teaching experience.
  • Demonstrable track record of excellent student outcomes.
  • A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
  • Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
