Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Arabic A Teacher to join our team in August 2026.

The ideal candidate will teach Arabic as a first language to native speakers, delivering exceptional instruction that enhances advanced skills in reading, writing, grammar, literature, speaking, and critical analysis of Arabic texts. This position will involve guiding students toward academic achievement while fostering a deep appreciation for the Arabic language, culture, and heritage within a diverse British curriculum environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instruction and Teaching

Provide Arabic as a first language (Arabic A) in accordance with the school’s curriculum and the UAE Ministry of Education standards.

Facilitate engaging lessons that develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and Arabic literature.

Encourage critical thinking, fluency in language, and a passion for Arabic literary works.

Create a classroom environment that promotes active participation and upholds high academic standards.

2. Curriculum Planning

Develop lesson plans that align with the school’s educational objectives and UAE standards.

Construct schemes of work, unit plans, and teaching materials that support student academic advancement.

Ensure that resources are appropriate for native Arabic speakers.

3. Assessment and Reporting

Design and implement formative and summative assessments to measure student progress.

Maintain accurate records of student performance.

Prepare reports for parents, school leadership, and relevant educational authorities.

4. Student Support

Adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including advanced students and those requiring additional academic support.

Provide ongoing feedback to help students improve their Arabic language and literacy skills.

5. Parental Engagement

Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and achievements.

Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.

6. Professional Development

Stay informed about effective practices in Arabic language instruction and literacy development.

Engage in school-sponsored professional development opportunities.

7. School Community Participation

Take part in school activities, cultural events, and Arabic language initiatives such as Arabic Language Day.

Collaborate with colleagues from different departments to promote interdisciplinary learning.

8. Compliance and Policies

Follow all school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Ensure that Arabic instruction adheres to local educational authority standards.

Skills and Competencies

Language Proficiency

Native Arabic speaker with a strong command of Modern Standard Arabic.

Thorough knowledge of Arabic grammar, literature, vocabulary, and academic writing conventions.

Curriculum Knowledge

Familiarity with Arabic A curricula that align with British and international school systems as well as UAE Ministry requirements.

Understanding of the development of Arabic literacy across grade levels.

Instructional Skills

Adept at designing engaging and challenging lessons for native Arabic speakers.

Competent in differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.

Assessment and Feedback

Skilled in creating effective assessment tools and monitoring student progress.

Able to provide clear and constructive academic feedback.

Classroom Management

Capable of managing classrooms effectively, fostering a positive and respectful learning environment.

Proficient in motivating students and encouraging active participation.

Technology Integration

Adept at using digital tools and educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

Communication and Collaboration

Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
