Salary:Grade 1 - £24,413 - £24,796 FTE (£19,006.12 - £19,304.30 pro rata). Pay award pending Autumn 2026

Allowances:£1,722 SEN allowance, pro rata

Hoursof work:32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, TTO

Education Impact Academy Trust is a MAT incorporating The Hive College, Wilson Stuart School, Queensbury School and Mayfield School. The Hive College is based in Erdington, Birmingham and is a Specialist Further Education College for learners aged 19-25 years with Special Educational Needs and disabilities. In November 2023 we were graded Outstanding in every single aspect of an Ofsted Inspection.

As part of our on-going development of a highly successful specialist college, we have a Male Care Assistant vacancy to join our team of professional and dedicated people.

We offer three individualised study programmes for students with PMLD, SLD, MLD and ASD. Our study programmes focus on preparation for adulthood, which include:

  • Friends, relationships and community

The right candidate will have:

  • The ability to work as part of a team assisting in the personal care and management of male students with a physical disabilities and/or medical conditions.
  • Actively contributes to a happy safe and supportive environment.
  • Experience of and the ability to deal positively with young adults with SEND.
  • Communication skills to positively and effectively communicate with students and listen to them.
  • The ability to support our values and ethos and be a positive role model.
  • A flexible and positive approach to challenge and change.
  • The ability to show initiative and work independently.
  • The ability to encourage students to improve their independence.

We are the only Trust to provide SEN Allowances to ALL roles who work with students, including Teachers, TA’s, Care Assistants, Pastoral Care, Guides and Drivers.
