Midday Meals Supervisor

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: 1x Fixed term and 1 x Permanent

Hours : Monday to Friday - 11.30am until 1.30pm

Closing Date: Friday 2nd October 2026

Interview Date: Wednesday 7th October 2026

Purpose of the Job: To supervise the pupils during the mealtime period to minimise any disruption, ensure their wellbeing and maintain their safety on both the playground and dining hall (and classrooms on wet lunch). To ensure pupil wellbeing and maintain their safety within guidelines set by Every Child Matters, equality, Health & Safety and Child Protection policies.

You will be required to help set up the dining hall and playgrounds with their equipment. You will supervise pupils during the mealtime period, minimising disruption, ensuring their wellbeing and maintaining their safety within school guidelines and policies. An understanding of the importance of the need for safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all pupils within the school and upholding the school's policies and procedures, in regard to child protection and safeguarding, is an essential requirement for the role.

Whilst experience is not a necessity, a genuine care in children is - you need to like children, to want the very best for them and be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work; you must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child within a creative and innovative school setting.

  • Hold a current first aid certificate or the willingness to train

  • A capacity to show initiative when encouraging children to engage in play activities
  • A positive rapport with colleagues and children
