Job Description - Playworker

Grade £12.71 per hour / 10 hours per week / Monday-Friday Term time only

Location: St Bede Academy

Responsible to: The Headteacher, or such other line manager as may be delegated by the Headteacher

Key Responsibilities

  • Offering care and support throughout lunchtime; in the dining hall, playground and classrooms
  • Leading play activities during lunchtime
  • Being responsible for the wellbeing and social interaction of pupils during lunchtime
  • Assisting in the domestic care and welfare of pupils at meal times
  • Promoting high standards of behaviour, adhering to the schools Behaviour policy
  • Assisting in the supervision of other activities during lunchtime including the setting out and storing of relevant equipment
  • Ensuring that the outside and inside areas are left tidy
  • Dealing with and reporting incidents and accidents that occur during lunchtime, ensuring policies and procedures are followed correctly
  • Being aware of responsibilities under safeguarding legislation, and reporting concerns to a senior member of staff
