£28,696 - £31,572 per annum

Permanent contract

Hours to be worked between 06:30am - 18:00pm (to be agreed on appointment)

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Site Manager to join Foundry Lane Primary School to take responsibility for the security, safety and upkeep of the site. You'll lead our Site and cleaning team, keep our buildings and grounds running smoothly, and make sure our site is a safe, welcoming place for pupils and staff every day.

This is a varied and hands-on role for someone who takes pride in a well-run site, enjoys solving practical problems, and can lead a small team with confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as principal key holder, responsible for site security, access and out-of-hours call-outs
  • Line managing and supporting the caretaking and cleaning team
  • Overseeing health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, fire safety checks and fire drills
  • Planning and managing routine maintenance, repairs and an annual maintenance budget
  • Liaising with external contractors to ensure work is completed to a high standard
  • Keeping the site secure, clean and safe in all weather conditions, including out-of-hours lettings when required

This role involves manual tasks such as lifting, working at height and working outdoors in all weather conditions

What we're looking for:

Proven experience in site management, caretaking or a similar facilities role

A practical, can-do approach with good problem-solving skills

Experience managing or supervising a team

A sound understanding of health and safety practice

Experience managing budgets and prioritising work to meet deadlines

Confident liaising with contractors and communicating clearly with staff, pupils and visitors

Comfortable using IT for record-keeping, ordering supplies and reporting

A flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
