About This Role

St. Anne’s School is a co-educational independent school in Madrid which offers a challenging and enriching British education to students aged one to sixteen. The school offers the IB Diploma Programme to students aged 16-18. The school is located in Chamartín, one of the most attractive and prestigious residential areas of Madrid and is easily accessible from most of the city. We are seeking passionate and dynamic teachers to join our dedicated team of teachers.

Job Purpose:
We seek a teacher to teach IGCSE Business Management as well as International Baccalaurate Diploma Programme. (IBDP) The successful candidate will be expected to inspire students through engaging lessons facilitating their learning and development within the IBDP curriculum and the British curriculum; foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes inquiry-based learning, and academic excellence; support the students’ academic growth and encourage critical thinking and independent learning. You will be working with a supportive and collaborative team of educators and have access to a wide range of professional development opportunities.

Accountabilities:
1. Teach engaging and well-structured lessons that align with the school´s curriculum (British and Diploma Programme), ensuring student understanding and mastery of subject matter.
2. Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, assessments, and examinations to support their academic progress and growth.
3. Implement innovative teaching strategies and instructional methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the curriculum, ensuring alignment with the programmes’ standards and objectives.
5. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and encourages open-mindedness and respect.
6. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and academic progress, and provide regular reports to students, parents, and school administrators.
7. Guide and mentor students in their individual projects such as CAS, and Extended Essay.
8. Be a form tutor responsible for the follow up of the emotional and academic standing of students in their form group.
8. Stay updated with the latest educational research and best practices to enhance instructional techniques and student outcomes.
9. Actively participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
10. Collaborate with the IB Coordinator, Head of IB and other faculty members to ensure compliance with IB regulations and maintain the school's status as an authorised IB World School.
11. Contribute to the wider life of the school

Relationships:
- Establish strong professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with the Heads of section, IBDP coordinator and other members of the teaching and non-teaching team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Engage in regular communication with parents to discuss student progress, academic goals, and strategies for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, such as learning support specialists and counsellors, to provide comprehensive support for students' academic and personal needs.
- Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders, such as IB examiners, universities, and educational organisations, to stay connected with the broader educational community.

The ideal candidate will have:
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
Experience teaching the relevant curricula.
Knowledge of the Cambridge and IB assessment methods
Ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a love of the subject and critical thinking.
A commitment to continuous professional development.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A strong understanding of student wellbeing and pastoral care.
Proficient in English (C2 level)
