RAK Academy - Al Hamra

Located in the south of Ras Al Khaimah in the Al Hamra community. RAK Academy – Al Hamra is a growing primary and lower secondary school delivering an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8 alongside the UAE MOE subjects. Grades 6 to 8 form our brand-new secondary school, opening its doors for the first time in August 2026. We are accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), benchmarked against leading international British schools and are able to fully deliver the ECT induction to teachers.

The Role:

RAK Academy Al Hamra Secondary is looking for DT Lab Technician to provide support to teachers and students by preparing materials, maintaining equipment (like 3D printers, laser cutters, woodworking tools), ensuring health & safety, and assisting with practical lessons and projects in subjects like Product Design, focusing on both traditional skills and modern CAD/CAM tech, all while managing workshop resources and stock.

Essential:

• Proficiency in English is required.

• 2-years’ experience of working with children 

• Sound understanding of Health & Safety procedures, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.

• A can-do and flexible approach 

• Previous experience of working with children 

• Secondary School Certificate (minimum) — Technical or vocational qualification in Engineering, DT, or related field desirable.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a laboratory or technical environment.
