About This Role

Capital School Bahrain – British Curriculum International School

Capital School Bahrain is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of English to join our growing secondary team.

The successful candidate will teach English at Key Stage 3 and IGCSE, delivering high-quality lessons that develop pupils’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. The ability to teach A-Level English Literature would be a distinct advantage as the school continues to develop its Sixth Form provision.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and IGCSE

  • Planning engaging, well-sequenced lessons aligned to the English National Curriculum

  • Preparing students effectively for IGCSE English Language and Literature

  • Developing pupils’ literacy, critical reading, and extended writing skills

  • Using assessment to inform teaching and support student progress

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and academic standards

  • Working collaboratively within the English department and wider school team

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge in English

  • Experience teaching KS3 and IGCSE English (essential)

  • Experience teaching A-Level English Literature (desirable)

  • Effective classroom practice and strong behaviour management

  • A commitment to inclusive practice and student wellbeing
