We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated EYFS Class Teacher to join St Catherine’s British School from September 2026. The successful candidate will be passionate about Early Years education, with a strong understanding of play-based learning and child development. They will be a creative and reflective practitioner, able to inspire curiosity, independence, and a love of learning in young children.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. They will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, and build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents. A UK-recognised (or equivalent) teaching qualification and fluency in written and spoken English are essential. A competitive remuneration package will be offered.

Job Description

Reports to: Head of EYFS
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 8:15am – 3:45pm (including a 30-minute break), Monday to Friday
Place of Work: Lower School
Holidays: Term-time only

Key Relationships

  • EYFS teaching team, Early Years Practitioners (EYPs), and support staff
  • Head of EYFS and wider school leadership
  • Pupils and their families
  • External professionals supporting pupils with additional needs

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a high-quality EYFS curriculum, using a balance of child-initiated and adult-led learning experiences
  • Create engaging continuous provision that reflects children’s interests and promotes exploration, creativity, and independence
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and supported
  • Support children’s development across all areas of learning, including personal, social, emotional, communication, language, and physical development
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, using this information to inform planning and next steps
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver both indoor and outdoor learning experiences
  • Build strong, positive partnerships with parents and carers, sharing progress and supporting learning beyond the classroom
  • Ensure high standards of health, safety, and wellbeing at all times
  • Contribute to staff meetings, professional development, and wider school initiatives
  • Keep up to date with developments in EYFS practice and curriculum guidance
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all pupils

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Years Education (or related field)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g. Greek Teaching Permit)
  • Proven experience teaching within EYFS in a UK or international setting
  • Experience of working with the English National Curriculum framework
  • Confidence in using technology to support teaching and learning

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and early childhood development
  • Expertise in play-based learning and continuous provision
  • Ability to assess, track, and support individual pupil progress
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

While this job description outlines the main responsibilities of the role, the post-holder may be required to undertake additional duties as directed by the Head of EYFS or Head of Lower School.

This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Act 1975. Successful applicants will be required to obtain an International Child Protection Certificate (if applicable) or a Greek criminal record check for local hires.

Compensation

€35,000 - €50,000 (Pre-Tax)
