About This Role

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Art to join our team in September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious teachers to further their careers with a globally leading organisation at a world-class international school in Dubai. Opened in 2014, GEMS FirstPoint School is a Premium British Curriculum school located in the heart of The Villa community, Dubai. The school currently provides exceptional education to around 2,000 students from Nursery (age 2) to Year 13, with exciting plans for future expansion.

FPS is proud to be an inclusive, values-driven school, with students representing over 90 nationalities. Our campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a dedicated sports and performing arts centre, swimming pools, theatre, sports hall, dance, drama, and music rooms. Specialist learning spaces include fully equipped science laboratories, computer suites, a food technology kitchen, textiles and design suite, and Design Technology workshops.


The curriculum is broad, balanced, and enriched with outstanding co-curricular opportunities, ensuring every learner can achieve their potential and find personal success.   • Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Contribute to co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes, supporting whole-school initiatives and events.

  • Uphold GEMS policies, procedures, and core values at all times.

  • Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support student development.

  • Engage in continuous professional development and performance management.


Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art or equivalent.

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

  • Strong classroom practice with proven ability to inspire and motivate students.

  • Commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning.

  • Willingness to contribute to wider school life and professional learning culture.
