Cambridge High School (CHS) is a co-educational school, established in 1883, with a roll of approximately 1,800 students. Cambridge High School serves the interests of the community incredibly well, meeting the varied academic, trades, cultural and sporting needs of our students. Places at CHS are highly sought after with families choosing to move into town to gain access to the school.
The Head of Department for our Guidance Counselling team plays a key role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development at CHS. This role involves leading programmes to build resilience and capabilities, working collaboratively with the pastoral care team, and fostering a school culture aligned with the REACH values:
We are seeking a skilled professional passionate about supporting young people. The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy school environment, manage a caseload effectively, respond to crises, and work collaboratively to promote student wellbeing.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in counselling and professional body membership are required. Experience in leading programmes, working with external agencies, and supporting wellbeing is highly valued.
The role would ideally commence at the start of Term 2, although we have flexibility for the right candidate. We will be interviewing selected applicants as we receive their applications.
To apply, download and complete the application form on our website and submit with a covering letter, CV and evidence of teacher registration.
