  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external agencies and specialists.

  • Ensure relevant background information for individual pupils is collected, recorded, and regularly reviewed.

  • Oversee initial assessments and ensure the development, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Monitor and evaluate intervention strategies to ensure positive student outcomes.

  • Line-manage and support SEN staff and Special Support Assistants, including arranging and leading regular meetings.

  • Plan and oversee timetables to ensure appropriate deployment of inclusion and support staff based on student needs.

  • Ensure teaching staff are informed of policies, procedures, and individual pupil needs.

  • Liaise closely with Heads of Section and senior leaders regarding the progress of pupils with SEN.

  • Ensure pupils with SEN have full access to the curriculum and advise staff on differentiation, adaptive teaching, and inclusive practices.

  • Monitor the quality of differentiation and the effective implementation of IEPs across classrooms.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement among staff and students.

  • Lead and deliver CPD related to inclusion, SEN strategies, and team teaching.

  • Contribute to whole-school leadership, policy development, and school improvement planning.
