About This Role
The development of the high school curriculum requires two related but distinct workstreams: 1. requisite first steps toward IBDP authorization and clear articulation of the pathway and related costs to the launch of DP in Y5 (2029-30); 2. Developing an exciting and compelling Mingwan Pathway to graduation. By Mingwan Pathway, sometimes referred to as IB+, we mean a hybrid program in which selected students will take a number of IBDP courses alongside specialized electives, with time for research and internships. In anticipation that the Mingwan Pathway may be a three-year sequence (G10-12), it will be necessary to have this program well-defined and able to be rolled out to parents and students for consideration by the middle of the G9 year (Y2027-28). Therefore, it is necessary to develop the program, with requisite approvals by the Education Committee and full Governance Committee, no later than December 2027.
It is estimated that the high school curriculum development position will require a 0.8 FTE appointment, with the remaining 0.2 allocated to teaching.
