Kaiako fluent in Te Reo Māori

Kawerau South School is seeking a dynamic teacher to join our future-focused kura. You will become part of Opunoke, our vibrant rūmaki and bilingual space, working alongside a dedicated and passionate team of kaiako and kaiawhina.

We are seeking a kaiako fluent in te reo Māori for a position ranging from 0.4 to 1.0 FTE, to be negotiated based on the needs of the school and the availability of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant will:

• Have fluency in te reo Māori and a deep commitment to tikanga Māori
• Be a strong classroom practitioner with culturally responsive pedagogy
• Have the ability to build strong relationships with ākonga, staff, whānau, and the community
• Be innovative, passionate, and ready to contribute to positive change
• Have a strength in positive, relational behavior management strategies
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and school-wide inquiry
• Be keen to teach in any of the Year 1-2, Year 3-4 or Year 4-6 akomanga.
