Kawerau South School is seeking a dynamic teacher to join our future-focused kura. You will become part of Opunoke, our vibrant rūmaki and bilingual space, working alongside a dedicated and passionate team of kaiako and kaiawhina.

We are seeking a kaiako fluent in te reo Māori for a position ranging from 0.4 to 1.0 FTE, to be negotiated based on the needs of the school and the availability of the successful candidate.
The successful applicant will:
Have fluency in te reo Māori and a deep commitment to tikanga Māori
Be a strong classroom practitioner with culturally responsive pedagogy
Have the ability to build strong relationships with ākonga, staff, whānau, and the community
Be innovative, passionate, and ready to contribute to positive change
Have a strength in positive, relational behavior management strategies
Engage in ongoing professional learning and school-wide inquiry
Be keen to teach in any of the Year 1-2, Year 3-4 or Year 4-6 akomanga.
