We have a strong focus on responsive relationships, the natural environment, and empowering children to be active participants within their learning. We need dedicated professionals working together with our families/whānau to offer children the best start on their learning journey.

Are you a passionate and inspiring kaiako who thrives on leading others to provide high-quality early childhood education in Ashburton? We are seeking a lead kaiako to join our whānau and guide our team in our 3-6 year old classrooms.

This is a full-time role between the centre operating hours of Monday-Friday 7.30am-5.30pm (30-40 hours per week).

What we need from you:

  • Fully qualified and registered early childhood teacher with strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current Early Childhood Regulations, Te Whāriki and Health and Safety requirements.
  • A strong understanding of planning and assessment practices, curriculum implementation and pedagogy.
  • Understand and be committed to implementing the philosophy and core values within our centre.
  • Strong organizational skills including time management and attention to detail.
  • The ability to drive and maintain a positive team culture.
  • The ability to provide professional leadership and mentorship to other kaiako and support staff.
  • A passion for working with children and transitioning children to school.
