About This Role
Curriculum and Instruction
Plan and implement engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with MYP Individuals & Societies and a second subject, TBD depending on the timetable, objectives and assessment criteria.
Deliver subject-specific content that fosters conceptual understanding and real-world connections across both subject areas.
Integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and support the development of the IB Learner Profile attributes.
Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs, backgrounds, and abilities of students.
Incorporate technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences where appropriate.
Assessment and Reporting
Design and administer assessments in accordance with MYP subject criteria and moderation practices across both subjects.
Use formative and summative assessment to track student progress and inform teaching.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support academic growth and reflection.
Prepare and submit accurate student reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
Learning Environment and Student Support
Establish a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through proactive pastoral care.
Promote student voice, choice, and responsibility in learning.
Collaborate with the learning support team to implement accommodations and modifications when needed.
Collaboration and Professionalism
Work collaboratively with MYP team members across subject departments to support interdisciplinary units and curriculum alignment.
Contribute to the development and review of MYP curriculum documents and planning templates for both subjects.
Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues.
Model professionalism, ethical conduct, and a commitment to the school's mission and values.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
A relevant bachelor's degree in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle years or international school setting.
Demonstrated ability or willingness to teach across two subject areas in a generalist or mixed-load capacity.
Experience or training in the IB Middle Years Programme strongly preferred, particularly within the Individuals & Societies subject group.
Demonstrated understanding of concept-based and inquiry-led pedagogy.
Strong assessment literacy and understanding of criterion-referenced assessment.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
