About This Role

Our Salisbury team is looking for a Specialist Learning Support Teacher on a full time, permanent basis.

The Role

In this position, you will be responsible to :

  • To assist and support individual pupils on the SEND register by planning and preparing lessons, assessing pupil progress and next step.

  • To support students on the SEND register as required, including those with EHCPs

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Have extensive experience working with children with Downs Syndrome

  • Have experience working with children in Key Stage 2

  • Have experience working with children with communication and interaction difficulties

  • Be fluent in Makaton or sign-a-long

  • Have knowledge of effective strategies which aid children with communication and interaction difficulties

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of pupils

  • Have an interest in how children learn and behave

  • Provide appropriate role models of behaviour both in the classroom and around school

  • Care about children, but particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult
