Teacher of Mathematics
About This Role
Mossbourne Federation is the realisation of Sir Clive Bourne’s dream to provide the children of Hackney with an outstanding education. Built on a formula of high expectations, doing the simple things right, and the belief that all children can succeed, Mossbourne offers an environment where all learners, regardless of ability, benefit from innovative and enlightened approaches to teaching and learning. Our calm working atmosphere creates well-rounded individuals who excel in the arts, on the sporting field, and academically.
In 2025, our 20th anniversary year, we are delighted to have expanded to include three Thurrock schools in our Federation. We now consist of seven academies:
- Mossbourne Community Academy (MCA) secondary and sixth form, Hackney
- Mossbourne Fobbing Academy (MFA) secondary and sixth form, Thurrock
- Mossbourne Herd Lane Academy (MHA) primary, Thurrock
- Mossbourne Parkside Academy (MPA) primary, Hackney
- Mossbourne Port Side Academy (MPSA) secondary, Thurrock
- Mossbourne Riverside Academy (MRA) primary, Hackney
- Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy (MVPA) secondary, Hackney
The Role:
We are looking for someone who considers themselves a ‘team player’, loves Mathematics and, most importantly, loves sharing that passion for Mathematics with other people.
About You:
The right candidate will have a growth mindset and be looking to continually develop as a practitioner. They will be well organised and willing to go the ‘extra mile’. They will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), may be starting out as an ECT or have a proven track record of successful teaching. They will believe that all students can succeed in Mathematics.
We are actively seeking to increase the proportion of our workforce who come from diverse backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from people of Black, Asian, and other minority ethnic descent. Injustice, discrimination, and intolerance go against the core tenets of the Mossbourne ethos. We actively reject discrimination in our academies through continuous review of our working policies and practices across the federation, including at the board level. We are committed to developing and supporting inclusivity, diversity, and anti-racism in every facet of what we do.
How to Apply:
Please submit your application form through the Federation’s recruitment system by clicking External Applicant by Friday 7th March 2025.
Your application should focus on clearly outlining and evidencing your ability to meet the requirements set out in the job description.
