St Matthew’s School Marton, is a state integrated Catholic full primary school in the heart of Marton. We seek an inspiring teaching principal (0.6 teaching / 0.4 release) and director of religious studies to continue our legacy and lead our school’s spiritual and educational journey. This special character position requires a committed and practising Catholic who will uphold and strengthen our Catholic special character.
You will demonstrate proven capability in leading learning and school improvement, with an up-to-date understanding of Tō Tātou Whakapono – Our Faith, the Religious Education Curriculum for Catholic Schools, alongside the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum, and a commitment to engaging thoughtfully with their ongoing development. You will be an excellent classroom practitioner who models high-quality, student-centred teaching, embraces innovation, and confidently implements structured approaches to literacy and mathematics. As a relational leader, you will sustain our treasured family-like culture where every learner feels safe, known and valued.
You will be supported by a dedicated Board, skilled staff and a strong parish partnership.
