Mistahi Sipiy Elementary School Grade 5 Teacher

Mistahi Sipiy Elementary School, located in Big River First Nation, is seeking a passionate and energetic Grade 5 Teacher to join their staff for the 2026-2027 school year.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing lesson plans that encompass a variety of subjects
• Evaluating and grading student understanding and performance
• Communicating with students and parents regarding educational issues
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages education
• Designing lesson plans and teaching strategies that align with school standards
• Administering assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement
• Cultivating an engaging learning atmosphere that caters to the needs of individual students
• Creating and utilizing lesson plans and instructional materials through various activities, including quizzes, competitions, and group discussions
• Managing classroom behavior and activities effectively

Requirements:
• Strong scheduling skills
• Excellent organizational abilities
• A Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
• Proficient classroom management skills
• Ability to teach students with varying learning needs
• Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum
• Experience in cross-cultural environments is advantageous
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Capability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must be able to provide verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable)
